Being a nectar feeder or honeyeater, a male Bellbird seen here feeding on Flax flowers, will also readily eat fruit and insects..Named because of its bell like song, that can sound similar to that of the Tui, the Bellbird is an endemic New Zealand passerine that can be found throughout the native forested areas of the country, though in smaller numbers north of Taupo.
